kunyu mountain shaolin kung fu school

 1) Why China? 1- I choose china to study Kung fu because I wanted to be in complete immersion in the kung fu world and learn the real kung fu in the original country where the kung fu was created. It was logical and a lot of sense that only china was good for me to learn Kung fu.

 2) Gains. 2- I gain a lot of flexibility, power and muscle, speed. Also I change my life style, more healthy, more calm and in peace. I also improve my humanity here and discover and understand more about myself.

 3) Influences.3- (Shifu)Masters taught me everything and also Manca helped me a lot for the forms. And also Alex helped me a lot more about myself.

4- My experience here was in general very good, hard training but very nice if you’re motivated, very good people that I meet here. Flora, Angel and the new girl translator are very nice.

5- The place is really really amazing. There are a lot of places to visit around the academy. These mountains are really amazing. It’s a really peaceful place amazing for the training.

1) Why China?

Originally I had googled "study Qigong in China" and then got in touch with Kathy and ended up going to Japan Osaka kung fu school for 2 months in 2023 ( Kunyu's Japan branch).

After a great experience there I decided to try China too. My motivation came from wanting to learn more about Qigong and Taichi.

2) Gains.

I loved the opportunity to improve at something every day. I studied the 42 form of Taichi hard every day and by the end of the 6 weeks was able to complete the forms. I enjoy getting to know new people and the camaraderie of group learning.

3) Influences.

Primarily the Master Guo and coach. I knew them well from Japan Temple Branch and greatly appreciate their expertise, patience and gentleness. They know we well and trust me to try my best and respect me if I have to take momentary breaks.

 4) Routine. The routine has the right balance of training and free time. I would normally wake between 4 and 5 am and attend Taichi at 6. Daily cleaning at 7:40 was a bit of a chore but one accepts this as part of life. Morning training starts with a jog and stretching; then basics and then forms practicing. At the beginning of every afternoon session we would do standing Qigong. I would prefer to do more moving qigong. We do moving qigong once a week on Thursdays Master Guo's English is quite good but Flora and Angel provided great assistance as well as humour and camaraderie.

 5) Area.It was so beautiful. The mountains and normally constant breeze. The trees around the courtyard provide great fragrances and natural Qi. The local town Muping provided a nice change of scene on Saturdays.

Thanks again for a great experience. I really hope to return.
