 1. Why Kunyu to study Kung Fu?

I choose to study Kung Fu in China because it’s where it was from. I had a previous experience learning martial arts and I really enjoyed, so I decided to keep exploring and I always find Kung fu extremely inspiring.

2. What is your greatest gain?

Besides learning the basics and the forms, I loved Sanda’s practice, the sparring sessions on Friday where I learned a lot, the staff forms and the familiarity with it. I also enjoyed Chinese class and calligraphy, that allow also to train the mind.

3.Who influenced and helped you ?Master Zhang was an important part of my experience here at Kunyu Mountain. The way he teaches show us every move with patience is inspiring and I can say that even in a short period of time I learned a lot.

Also Master Xu was a constant presence during training and I appreciate the way he was connecting in on push us to the limits. The translators, Flora and Jolie are very helpful and funny to talk to. Jennifer handled the few issues that I had in a very prompt and efficient way. I also received a lot of help and suggestions from old students and long term students, and I am grateful to all of them.

Brief summary :Daily life in the school was mainly focused on training, as it is supposed to be. The food is good and there is plenty to eat to sustain the effort of the training. The training itself is well planned, with moment you need to push yourself if you want! The staff is very helpful, even when you don’t speak Chinese. It was a great experience, I am glad that I came here and if possible I would love to come back to learn more!

The surroundings : The surroundings of the academy are super nice, the mountain are beautiful and it was cool to go to the temple on Friday afternoon when it was open and train there. The small city is lovely and it was nice to get more extra food in the restaurants. Also the weather is nice during my stay.

1. Why Kunyu to study Kung Fu?

I wanted an authentic experience. I wanted to get stronger, more disciplined and to learn Chinese martial arts.

What is your greatest gain:

I learnt about and experienced a great range of training methods for Shaolin Kung Fu and other Chinese martial arts. Who influenced and helped you during your period in the academy? The masters were excellent teachers and they helped me a lot during the whole process.

Brief summary :

Each weekday I participated in a structured routine of training activities. These included Shaolin forms, techniques, strength, conditioning, Sanda training, Qigong, stretching and more. The masters helped us improve, translators explained things, and regular meals were provided.

Surroundings of the Kunyu Mountain Kung FU academy

The surroundings area is very scenic and helps to keep a clear mind. Thank you for training me.
